At no point in time was Grieve ever going to be in a position to accept C02 on Feb 1st 2012?
Did they only just realise Feb 1st was the date and decided to do this as insurance not to envoke any contractural penalties from Exxon?
Who knows what is written in the contracts though.
Hopefully by doing this it will give the approval high focus at the BLM.
