Acaca, I think it's more than the post deserves, but I'll reply. Do you honestly think the marginal cost & operating efficacy of metal detectors in the late 1970's in any way compares to same circa 2013?
I could make some spurious comparison between PC use in the 1970's and now & it would add no value.
Obviously, and this should not need to be said, gold at US$1900oz will see Codan sell somewhat more metal detection units than US$1300oz gold, but the relationship is not purely intertwined for there are other factors at play (and it should be noted a variety of other uses for which demand is much more static).
