The minelab division currently represents approx $140M of revenues and out of that the African countries are Sudan (apparently stable at the moment)with Mali and Guinea the Mali elections are being held on July the 28th 2013 (ie early FY14) and Guinea on June 30th 2013 but now according to the internet Guinea wont be held then due to further civil unrest.

"More than 50 people have been killed during three months of protests by opposition activists, who say the electoral roll is stuffed with names of Conde's (current president)ethnic Malinke supporters."

The trouble in Mali and Guinea represent approx $90M in revenues and have both dramatically slowed sales in recent months coming up to the elections, so I assume July 28th will be a key date for Mali and depending if Conde stays on that would be a problem for Guinea sales at least in the riots after.

The manufacturing of the product is done in Malaysia and distributors have their own shops/vans to sell Minelab equipement in Africa no real estate owned by CDA over there. Apparently the rest of the business is sound.

Either way I'll be interested to see how this 28th July election pans out could set CDA up for a further plunge or set it it for a run.
