Not sure where you are hanging out, but for most people $300 is the equivalent of a good night or two at a restaurant

The people that can't afford the extra $300 wouldn't be going in to get the ops done anyway

You might also want to have a look at some of the stats around eye degernation rates in people as they get older, which I suppose is completely irrelevant if our population is getting younger everyday..
