Out of topic @loki01, can I short sell with my own share holding? e.g., in the same financial year if I buy shares at low price at earliest time A, then sell it later at higher price at time B, buy the shares back at even later time C - all A, B & C batches are same number of shares of a same stock. Can I treat the transactions as short sale between B & C? The purpose is to reserve A batch as longer term holding for tax concession. Do you know of any ATO rules prohibiting this arrangement? Thanks
