BlackSteel I'd suggest reading the announcement by SCI on 17th Sept "New Copper-Cobalt projects at Broken Hill". In some respects, SCI has so much potentially good ground around Broken Hill, it is difficult for them to progress it altogether. So it often appears to be a Cliff Young Shuffle for most of the tenements. Nevertheless, there is consistent process going on to determine the copper, cobalt, and other metals. At Copper Blow some cobalt was found in the deep drills (about 200 m) in the south zone of the magnetic anomaly, but it is a minor credit. The other tenements to the north of Broken Hill have good cobalt grades in some of the rock chips. The relationship between the iron, copper, gold, cobalt, moly, etc for an iron-copper-gold system should be familiar to the geologists who have studied the Curnoma Province (see map on page 7 of the recent Brisbane Conf presentation). So to those geologists, how closely do the sulfides of copper, gold & cobalt occur? What I am trying to ask is: in what order do the key metals accumulate in sedimentary or volcanic layers after they are transported from igneous intrusions? Can we expect, for instance, the copper-sufides to travel further than the gold, or the copper and cobalt to occur in different lodes? Any insights would be welcome amigos.
