If CertainID is to be progressed then maybe a suitor could be found. I think KKL's IP is where a potential suitor would be interested. KKL is really now just a company of knowledge (paperwork / filing cabinets)… the inspirational brains left long ago. No contracts, RFID Tags manufactured by others under licence... Its an easy acquisition one would have thought.
With a MC of around $2.5m why would you entre a JV when you can have the lot for next to nothing.
Data61 was a good move to demonstrate the potential value of CertainID and also giving credibility by the CSIRO. So I think this move has helped at the right time if deals are being considered behind the scenes.
You would think that maybe a capital raise is due based on the cash balance but it could all be wrapped up at the same time.
Just a few thoughts to throw into the air.
