I agree with you about trying to avoid companies that sell physical products (unless there's a significant IP barrier, significant pricing power, goodwill etc).
BGT is more of an R&D company (agribio) however and that's where you'd expect the uplift to come from (licensing, takeover etc). Let the big boys at the top of the food chain worry about margin compression from the Chinese.
