Phosphine resistance has been a big issue but sealing silos, co2, other chemicals and even nitrogen are used..there is that new device ( to attach to a sealed silo) that takes n from the air to make a toxic gas coming in also.
Gm crops has led to decline in many insecticides, As has ipm ( integrated pest management) and breed and release of beneficial insects, plus biological insecticides.
