Ok hc member, I did not such thing as being sarcastic. That is in your head. Champ is very acceptable way to call people.  It’s being friendly. All I said, “no offence”, in my first reply because straight cross promoting is extremely annoying and is against regulations.
I can not help with your assumptions.

In Australia we a very nice people and try to give people a go. We call people champ or mate for example. If I call someone champ or mate, it’s not a bad thing. People say champ all the time. It’s not evil or sarcastic. Not from my part of Australia.

I am not a green. I’m not to the left. I believe in male or female. I believe in saying g’day to everyone. I have never known anyone needing to ask someone permission  to call them champ or mate.
