    I would think IRD is much better located compared to ROY.

    1) They are likely to have access to Sheep Hill. Having a cape sized port would reduce operating costs. And quite honestly there isn't anywhere in SA that is deep enough to put a cape sized port without dreging (have a play on google earth).

    2) They are closer to Port therefore they are able to slurry pipe desal water back more easily. For ROY and other guys over there they would likely need to build a slurry all the way to the cost so they could pump the water back to site.

    3) Less competition for infrastructure. Everyone on the east side wants to use Port Pirie, however AFAIK WPG has already taken up all the easy capacity. Even if these magnetite guys get access to Port Pirie it would be a very high cost operation due to trans-shipment.

    Even then I question the viability of IRD's operation, given the costs and tonnage required to make this thing work. RHM's project looks much more feasible.
