You are right in saying that most of the surface has been picked over. No arguments there. And that is why pretty much everyone in the industry now agrees to be successful explorers in the future we need to become better at exploring through cover.
An assessment of drill hole depths across the whole of WA shows very clearly we have only scratched the surface, even in very mature parts of the state.
Secondly, if you look at the number of outcropping deposits discovered vs. deposits discovered through even shallow cover it becomes very apparent that historically explorers have not done this well.
My understanding of the geology at Barlee is that most of the area is under shallow cover and the historical workings were all in outcropping rocks. So still a lot of potential.
When the drill results start coming in we can pick this conversation up again.
