I also feel its a tactical move to keep it all in the family so to speak. QH stated a while back that if there was a fine gold component that he wanted it to be found on "Novo's" land so could just be hedging his bets in a way thru his association with Eric Sprott and if anything is found it's much easier to co-operate between parties.
