It's good to remember that some humans always try different tactics to gain advantage - some fair, some unfair.
It is only when enough people get hurt that pressure is bought to bare, then Governments and authorities step in to address the issues - but usually long after the fact.
Australian and now NZ gun laws, Whaling laws for example, - just because a law does not currently exist does not make the action right or indeed lawful, particularly when in the future when new laws may be passed to stop a certain behaviour.
Is it still viewed as lawful to have shorted in 2019 when a law is passed in 2020 to ban shorting?
It was allowed in 2019 but judging it as lawful is also insinuating a correct action - which after the law is passed is no longer correct.
