Your spot on - all niobium comes from 2 supplies in Brazil and niobec in Canada.

It is a very strategic commodity for defence and pipelines etc. So much so that the Chinese and US took billion dollar stakes in the Brazil supplier which was a family monopoly and pioneer.

Toshiba have been conducting research and development of niobium batteries which one can read on GBE'S last quart.
GBE have the world's 4th largest deposit of niobium - have patented an extraction process. No niobium mine has come into production for 15 or more years - supply from Brazil is plenty but limited suppliers can cause a monopoly and a price surge hence the Chan and U.S. taking a stake.

Problem being GBE are although asx listed are 75% owned by the Chan and they are very mute on progress. I have held and been critical of management for quiet a while and have seen a decline over years in SP however now - without any news a bit of a spike in SP and volume.
Does this mean anything? Who knows!!

Through my Malawi following of GBE I followed SVM. Then Stephens from GBE taking a position with 4CE I had a dabble and wow...
Anyway - like I said - just throwing it out there and DYOR. See what happens.

Anyway back to SVM - only a couple of weeks until assay results - hard to believe the volume you say yet little SP gain. Never mind - they (traders) will be left behind.
