Just throw this out there as there has been some activity - no news from GBE in Malawi with their niobium deposit.
Last quarterly they posted Toshiba as developing superior batteries than lithium ion for the auto industry using niobium.
Much longer life of charge and extremely quick charge time.
With tech rapidly advancing could niobium replace lithium ion batteries. Sure sounds a possibility if the Toshiba article is anything to go by.
