    Gee, news.....

"PeriCoach Clinical Publication on Patient with Multiple Sclerosis and Faecal Incontinence. 15 September 2016, Brisbane, Analytica Ltd (ASX: ALT), continues to execute their strategy for demonstrating PeriCoach® clinical efficacy with the company’s latest publication in the internationally regarded Journal of Urology and Research. The case study details the experience of a 70-year-old female with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and faecal incontinence using PeriCoach as an adjunct treatment to her physical therapy sessions. The study is authored by Physical Therapist Dawn Sandalcidi, RCMT, BCB-PMD who specialises in orthopaedic manual therapy and pelvic muscle dysfunction treatment, and is the owner of Physical Therapy Specialists in Colorado (www.ptspecialists.com). Ms Sandalcidi is a member of Analytica’s US Clinical Advisory Board. The study is titled “Pelvic Floor Muscle Strengthening Using Biofeedback for Treatment of Faecal Incontinence in a Patient with Multiple Sclerosis”. “This was a tough case. I had a 70-year-old woman who had undergone two surgeries to repair rectal prolapse, yet was still suffering with symptoms which included faecal incontinence. Multiple Sclerosis results in reduced muscle control making it difficult to strengthen muscle. In particular the pelvic floor muscles are more challenging to retrain without feedback. The PeriCoach biofeedback and the smartphone app provided guidance for neuromuscular re-education in between physical therapy visits. We saw her improve from limited pelvic floor strength and control to a functioning pelvic floor in 12 weeks.” said Ms Sandalcidi. “The support of the complete PeriCoach system, smart phone app and portal, provided the reassurance and motivation I needed to keep this women committed to her treatment course.” The PeriCoach has been cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of urinary incontinence through the strengthening of pelvic floor muscles. A weak pelvic floor can contribute to other conditions including uterine prolapse, rectal prolapse, faecal incontinence, sexual dysfunction, lower back pain and suprapubic pain. Copies of the study can be found in the early digital edition in the Journal of Urology and Research or from the company websites alongside other case studies: http://www.pericoach.com/clinician/case-studies/
