From my understanding, if you start getting results in the 90-95% methane range then it starts to immediately impact the prospectivity of the results.
CO2 does have preferential adherence to the coal face over Methane. If the methane is no longer there..where has it gone to? The coals could be acting as a source rock for some other gas sands/shales in the area, so if they are able to identify the CO2/Nitrogen source and where the Methane has migrated to, they could be looking at a conventional resource possibly.
Do you guys know what effect hot rocks might have on the area? are they a known source of gas?
