Thanks for the response Tooheys8,
Could you expand a bit more on the differences in the law vis a viv the two jurisdictions, which you see as pertinent to our company's three legal actions in Singapore?
I admit my experience with Singaporean legal matters has been quite limited....basically it's only been in notarial matters, deceased estates and personal legal matters such as powers of attorney ...where I haven't experienced unforseen difficulty or surprises (as opposed to the system in Indonesia for example).
I did however witness several affidavits for use in a substantial superior court action between two companies a year or two back. Those affidavits as I recall were voluminous with many exhibits, but the procedure over there didn't seem at the time (to me anyway) more different than say the procedure in the Federal Court are from those in a state Supreme Court. I also seem to remember one of my former partners in commercial litigation having a positive experience with a significant commercial arbitration matter in Singapore admittedly quite some years ago.
