Fremont Petroleum Corporation Ltd (ASX: FPL) (“Fremont” or “the Company” advises that flow back operations
are progressing on the J.W.Powell #23-25 well.
The flow-back program is designed to recover ~30% of the hydraulic stimulation fluids that were injected into the
Niobrara Formation as a part of the fracking process. Typically at the 30% mark, a productive reservoir will start to
produce oil and gas, and the water cut diminishes over time.
Approximately 24 % of the frack fluids have been unloaded from the well bore – 15% of frack fluids were unloaded
naturally after which time the well was placed on pump (see figure 1), to unload the balance of frack fluid this week.
At approximately 5.00am Colorado time (11pm AEST), natural gas was present during flow back operations which
is an encouraging sign at this stage.
The Company will provide further updates through to reporting an initial flow rate.
