Bargain city. Shares under $3 for what is set to be one of the biggest low cost lithium producers! Japanese carmaker Toyota Tsusho Corporation owns an indirect 25% stake in the operation, while provincial resources firm JEMSE owns an 8.5% stake. Toyota acts as an exclusive sales agent for lithium produced at Olaroz. The companies recently approved a project to expand production capacity at Olaroz by 25,000 mt/year to 42,500 mt/year of lithium carbonate, a move that would make it one of the world's largest, low-cost lithium producers. Part of the additional production would be processed at a new 10,000 mt/year lithium hydroxide plant that Orocobre and Toyota are also planning to build at Fukushima, Japan. Both projects are expected to be commissioned during the second half of 2020.
