This probably a bit boring to most people, but I was looking at the Ton issue.
Australia changed from Imperial to Metric in 1966 where the Imperial Ton was 2240 lbs.
So Australia moved to the Tonne which is 1000 kg which is 2,204.62 lbs
So as near as 'dammit' is to swearing they are essentially the same.
While I cannot find a definitive statement that we are using the 'Tonne' when Australian companies report on their resources I cannot see that they are using US Ton either. Ergo it will be the 'Tonne' by default especially when we do not trade in the USA with our spod.
It is confusing when we use the currency standard of the US dollar when talking of money.
Typical of the septic tanks to have something different
