The basic problem is that the orebody is not as expected. At Belinau the underground mine was experiencing lower than expected grades (the predictions of the underground orebody modelling have not held up). Exploration drilling at Belinau (and other targets) is unimpressive. Berenai/Nuri open pit has been completed. Asmar Pit is not economic to operate and the total Ore Reserve is less than 100,000 ounces (dec 2017 statement).
Word from Jakarta is that all contractors are in a mad scramble to salvage their equipment.
