I disagree , in fact I think the whole fact that government is meddling will motivate the people with over $200K to actively mange their funds so that they can at least control the investment process. I think that will create more smsf's

I have helped 3 people this month to do that - I dont think the non concessional cap of $500K has anything to do with it. In the process its just a lot of paperwork and process to get the funds out of other funds. The last person I helped is single no dependents ... and the fund she was in had allocated life cover and no disability... Really after switching and getting it sorted they were very happy.

Frankly I think for many people who had never thought of using transition to retirement they now may. Instead of the government stopping a rort those that would not do it because it was a rort will now do it. You can get $XXX out @15% and then contribute $25,000 from your business costing you 15% no worse off than a company rate of 30% but in your hands without having to climb up the tax thresholds...
Whilst I dont think DVA has a direct link to SMSF I think they do via a few platforms... Not sure but I think the fit is great.

What does concern me - when is OVH going to be cash flow positive DVA is already as I understand it.
