They have free elections, opposition parties, opposition governors, an opposition controlled parliament, very powerful opposition media, private enterprises, low taxes, even oligarchs.

The most important measure, government spending (% of GDP), is lower than in the US and much lower than in most European countries.

You may then say, they are 'socialist', because, atypically for the country group, there is free healthcare and quality education for everyone. But then Australia would be 'socialist' as well.
