The Fin Review is reporting that Fairfax is considering spinning off Domain as a separately listed vehicle. As a novice to equities markets I'm not sure how this will affect FXJ's SP although my instinct is that it won't be good? Even if it generates over a billion in capital as reported, what would be left in the stable that would be attractive to investors? I also assume this will kill off that talk of a takeover by TPG. This move would put a lot of pressure on FXJ to invest any capital raised into powerful necromancy to ressurect traditional media into a sustainable business.
