The latest presentation is an excellent summary of information. Even better still is that it was provided before the scheduled meeting of 22 June. Normally management (of any company) likes to hit the meeting with a good series of presentation slides that can surprise shareholders at that moment. This is usually a little overwhelming as it takes time to digest the figures as well as to listen to the accompanying verbal description. In this particular instant we can read with some mental preparation and have clarification questions ready for the meeting. This is great stuff.
Slide 5 shows an up to date figure (2010) for the Worldwide therapeutic plasma market as being $16 B of which Asia accounts for 21%, i.e. a $3 B present market. But Asia has 60% of the world population. The interesting question that arises is, if the Asian population in the future were to gain access to plasma at the same volume per person as the 'rest of the world', what would be the required increase in plasma production in Asia? After some simple algebra, my number results in a factor of 6 times, i.e. a 6 fold increase in plasma production is necessary just in order to match the accessibility to the rest of the world. [There are some requirements on other parameters being equal, etc.]
The demand in Asia is high now but as each country strives to attain first world standards in health the shortage in supply will be chronic. Slowly various demographic cohorts will rise in socio-economic standard and make their demands. People, what does that say about potential?!
I already have three pages of questions written out for the meeting with more to be added over time. This presentation has already begun to answer some of these.
