Got no issues with the fact industry will find ways of reducing dy in certain applications but thats not all circumstances. In addition to that in EV applications where high temperatures are present due to environment conditions and the duty requirement of the motor Dy will still be required. Some comments i've read on this forum about liquid cooling to EV motors instead of using Dy is farcical given that the cost of adding a cooling system is expensive, reducing reliability and simplicity.
I do find you're very China-centric. Yes they manufacture a lot of magnets but do you think the value adding Germans and Americans will just accept what china will supply? Every EV manufacturer will have their own designs and technology mix for their chosen car. Europe and the US in particular are very aware of China's monopoly in this sector. Any mine such as NTU outside China is welcome.
Also, how accurate is the given data from China? When a considerable amount of Dy is from illegal mines is this data you present the whole picture? The truth is no one knows.
