Northern Minerals ramps up Browns Range recruitment

Northern Minerals has made “steady progress” on the installation of a pilot plant for its Browns Range heavy rare earths project in the East Kimberley of Western Australia.
The company today reported that construction of the pilot plant remained on track for completion by June 30 this year.
Northern, which recently raised $10 million through a share purchase plan to develop Browns Range, is accelerating plans to fast-track project enhancement initiatives at the site, including downstream processing options and an increase in exploration.
It hopes to extend the potential mine life of the project from 11 years to at least 20 through these initiatives.
The company has also launched a recruitment drive for the remainder of its operations team at Browns Range.
“Despite heavy rains in the area over the last two weeks causing some delays on site, (contractor) Primero Group continued to make steady progress on installation of structural and process plant modules,” Northern said in an ASX announcement.
“The operations team continues with operational readiness work, progressing development of the commissioning plan, operations systems and procurement of key supply contracts. The recruitment drive for the remainder of the operations team is under way.”
Northern is planning its next drilling programs for Browns Range and expects to start this work in the June quarter.
