Well as a NST holder I can congratulate Bill Bearmont for his quick work and ability to look after NST shareholders with this extremely opportunistic low-ball bid, but also being a TBR holder I can honestly also say "Nice try but possibly no cigar - come back with a more reasonable offer."


Total Return = Capital Gain + Dividends
TBR   +64% -18% +82% (held for almost 1 year)
NST +92% +88%    + 4%   (held for 2 years and have taken profits on the way up)

Says to me I possibly took some profits off the table a bit too early with NST..... but everyones own circumstances will be different....

Its always funny when you own both the target and the predator, although in this case if NST / Bill Bearmont get away with this "stick-up" I will be one very happy NST holder.

I bet that Esmmun isn't laughing though - given his strong opinions about how regulatory failure and some Takeover Panel adventurism has certainly flushed out an opportunistic bidder, and he does have some valid points that I can agree with.   I think I heard a faint explosion earlier today that could have been Esh's head exploding.....

Will be intrigued to see what the TBR response will be.
