I saw this story this morning and am putting the link into this thread (given the timeliness of the date ) to offer a broad view of the year we are just finishing.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-12-31/2018-a-year-investors-would-like-to-forget/10593542
It was pretty tough .
During the year NRW Holdings has thrived against a trend that took out RCR Tomlinson and sent many other privately owned. civil infrastructure companies into liquidation as well.
On the ASX Lendlease is currently about half its August value , Worleyparsons much the same, Seven Group down from around $22 to $14.50. Over the year MACA has fallen from $1.80 to around 90c....etc.
That we have prospered rather than foundered ( without being a huge multinational like CIMIC or Salini ) says something pretty remarkable about CEO, Jules Pemberton, CFO, Andrew Walsh, Golding CEO, Geoff Caton and the amazing leaders and teams who work for us.
I linked to a video talk by Paradice Investment Manager, James McBeath yesterday where he probably represented almost everyone in the market when he said Paradice was sifting through the ASX looking for companies with some degree of immunity in case of more rough times ahead in 2019.

(Bizarrely Paradice went under 5% of NRW, possibly so it could buy back cheaper seeing as its overall entry price was s bit high )
Because as @Parma’s just said , and so many other convinced shareholders this company is one in a million .
It’s the leaders who made it so.
