Don't know connection with current admin. but Patterson's had close relationship with original main shareholders (Campbell Smith/family) when GLL was known as Eastern Corporation (ECU) about the time ECU sold it's coal assets in NZ to Bathurst Resources for $30m many years ago. That's how GLL became funded enabling them to get to this point. Smith sold bulk of his holding to current SH/Directors immediately after sale of NZ assets but retained a much smaller holding. That's all I can recall off the top of my head.
