that crony consultant you refer to is Max Brunsdon who was apart of Bathursts senior management during its rise. have a look at the 2011 annual report to see his salary and obviously how highly regarded he was there compared to the MD. spent a fair bit of time at BHP too where he was involved in the coal marketing so would suggest he knows his stuff.
this was a shell company 2 months ago so suggest that change is imminent after the EGM next week.
