pierre, just read the co-ag free screening site and it looks like the publication of PBT2/ zinc paper was the result of a secondary process which is not free. If that is the case everybody may have known about PBT2 being a positive hit compound for some time and Prana may have contributed to the ongoing research which resulted in the publication.

[Further screening optionsResearch groups who get positive results from initial screening have the option to proceed with us to lead development using our integrated chemistry, biology and pharmacology capabilities. This ‘one-stop shop’ can help fast track a novel hit compound from this early stage research program through to identification of an investigational new drug (IND) candidate. We are excited to share this unique opportunity with the worldwide community of researchers to combat the ‘superbug crisis’.
CO-ADD also possess the expertise and instrumentation to take on collaborative ventures that investigate the mode of action, target validation and genome sequencing projects. The following screening options are not part of the CO-ADD free screening, but can be accessed through a separate collaboration for further investigation of your validated hits. Please contact us at [email protected] to discuss.]

[CO-ADD is a not-for-profit initiative led by academics at The University of Queensland. Our goal is to screen compounds for antimicrobial activity for academic research groups for free.We aim to help researchers worldwide to find new, diverse compounds to combat drug-resistant infections.]

There is interesting info on this site
[This is a free service and we make no claims on results or IP. The data will then be made available in an open access database for use by the community following a confidentiality period allowing you to publish or patent your positive hits.]

Something does not seem to add up here. Why the surprise UQ publication given the above statement.
