Bit late to the party but..
Im a plumber, ill regularly buy in bulk from as far as interstate to save $ on regularly used items.
However i can't see amazon having much impact on Reece. Even my interstate items come from a plumbing supply shop if i have an issue with a product they're a phone call away and stand behind the gear they sell. The last thing i want is to have to return to a job because of a faulty cheap item.
Its the convenience and things that are needed urgently or are too bulky to freight that I'll use Reece for.
I never use Tradelink, their computer system is slow when you're ordering at the counter, staff aren't knowledgeable and they seem to run out of things they never should. My Tradelink branch used to have 4 -5 staff plus driver theyre down to 2 total and close early. Tradelinks days are numbered imo. Price wise I'd agree their everyday pricing is slightly lower than Reece.
However if you have a good relationship with your branch manager at Reece pricing can be adjusted for your regularly bought items. You just need to ask.
Staff at Reece are exceptional and they weed the duds out quickly.
Agree the bathroomware from the showroom is way overpriced and this is a market with lots of competitors.
Jealous of all who got in early with REH. I can't justify dipping a toe in as i can't see where any significant growth / SP increase will come from.
