In NRW’s own portion of Major Infrastructure World, this story from two weeks back : the union wants to close the tunnel after someone hurt their hand and because they claim the leak fix is only temporary solution .https://www.perthnow.com.au/busines...ield-airport-link-rail-project-ng-b881009546z
The union has also claimed an above ground forklift incident more than 5 km away from the TBM’s was caused by the tunnel https://www.watoday.com.au/national...round-perth-airport-link-20181023-p50bgy.html
Another story including comment from SINRW project director Richard Graham noting :
“....Salini Impregilo-NRW says it has no problems with unions or any safety authority reviewing its workplace, and is doing “everything we can” to make sure no accidents occur”....

It’s sounds like a blood, sweat and tears kind of job being scrutinised by politicians, press, unions and all the other companies bidding for tunnel projects.
Bottom line is NRW needed this job, went for it and won it .
The company has a reputation for excellence and for looking after its people .
That doesn’t make for good press.
