I think the gold provides the longer term and greater upside due to the potential scale. The lithium project is a nimble one ( smaller scale but hence lower risk to develop and finance ). My view is that the lithium project will help grow NVA asset base and cashflow to help develop the gold project.
Apparently they were asked by potential investors and perhaps financiers overseas are you a Battery Metals company or a precious metals company? Some of those investors prefer focus to be more specific. The Snow Lake spinout is a way of separating the two whilst still benefiting from the upside of developing and deriving asset growth and cashflow from the Lithium project.
For example, Germans particularly like gold and focus on that as an investment.
There are also fewer listed hard rock lithium companies in Canada. The spinout helps differentiate from the much larger number listed on the ASX. This approach also should improve access to capital (whether it be finance or equity investment).
