Lets hope there was not a cash payment, but at least an exercise price like that aligns them to the company (they are minor shareholders).
Having said that, options have an intrinsic value, and even at that exercise price, would have a value today.
The interesting issue if having to 'pay' a 3rd party to help bring on board another investor when the usual rampers are claiming mgmt are kicking goals......I think it's self-evident that it's taking significant effort to sell the strategy and the money is hard to come by.
