once the new company complies with ASX re-listing rules and the transaction completes successfully, then all that will happen is the ticker code in your portfolio will change
your shareholding will remain identical since there is no consolidation of shares
if the transaction falls through, then the ticker code will not change, and you'll still have all your shares
