I know it wasn't subject to finance, but I'd still like to know whether they paid for it through cash or debt, and if debt then who through because they may still have a strong relationship.
I'm not expecting an unconditional bid. There was 0 issuance of debt in the HY bond market in the US in December, so debt funding conditions will almost certainly be in any bid (from PE firms, at least) given how much HY investors have dialed back. Admittedly is a different story for a corporate that has enough cash, so I guess we'll see if there are any out there shortly...
