I have no economics training, so maybe I have dont have a full understanding ....
but I cannot in general see how a foreign takeover (ie sale of an existing business) helps our capital account needs UNLESS the money is (re)invested in some new productive enterprise or 'nation development' project (which I often doubt happens, it is more likely spent on consumption (goods) or real estate speculation).
Now if the money/capital was coming in to startup a NEW or expand an existing business, then I can understand that it is helping to satisfy our capital needs.
Completely agree about the conga line of blood sucking lobbyists, + lets add in the short sellers as well.
