I have been reading as much as I can about bornite and vms - using a search engine .
One particular search showed only 1 place in Oz where bornite was mentioned with vms, and that is Tritton in NSW. Of course, the BIG one is Monty, but that no date post-dated that report.
I conclude therefore that it is not the norm. Monty must be an extreme exception.
The enquiries that I have made have me thinking that the bornite in DD! and RCs 2 and 3 probably won't show up in any primary copper, which should be standard chalcopyrite, and hopefully chalcocite too.
You'd have to think that with all of the mineralisation in the oxide/weathered zone there is a big primary zone either deeper or tipped sideways adjoining the hit oxide zones, or both of course. The mineralisation can't all have been oxidised, surely not.
It's just a matter of time before the primary is hit imo.
Keep up the very good work Richard - and the BoD too of course.
