I’d say it’s simply a matter of the first drill they took hasn’t got enough grunt to get to the bottom of the deep cover with all the issues of the sand and clay blocking the rods as it goes down. Drilling the first holes into this area, where it sounds like the drilling (not much) that has been done previously hit basement at shallower depths than what they’re getting here. Bigger drill with a bit more grunt will probably solve that issue.
As to the rest? Well, who knows. Pyrite is neither here no there - could have gold, could be barren. Assays will tell, as Ash says in the release. More drilling needed and assays are king.
