KIA ORA, NEW ZEALAND! WE’RE MAPPING A TOWN NEAR YOU.
16 AUGUST 2018
We’re excited to share some amazing news — we’re dropping a pin on our map today in New Zealand, providing Kiwi businesses access to premium aerial imagery of our Tasmanian neighbour’s major cities. With Nearmap NZ, Kiwi businesses can access current, high resolution aerial imagery and location data on demand.
Come meet us at the Esri User Conference in Auckland 20-22 August — drop by booth #2 for a live demo and a coffee, on us!
Hundreds of thousands of Kiwi businesses in construction, engineering, architecture, utilities, government, and telco that regularly conduct physical site visits will now be able to virtually inspect their work sites and property assets. And, with our historical library of content dating back to January 2017, businesses can also monitor the transforming built environment of urban New Zealand.
With consistently high resolution imagery (7.5cm GSD or better) and frequent captures, Nearmap NZ will ensure businesses are working with the latest location intelligence. This helps companies save time, reduce costs, increase productivity, and make better informed decisions.
Our footprint includes the cities and towns that are home to 72 percent of New Zealand’s population, with Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton and Christchurch last updated in May.
“Development in New Zealand is set to accelerate, with the
KiwiBuild program investing in building 100,000 high quality, affordable homes over 10 years,” said Nearmap EVP Shane Preston. “As the country prepares for its growing population, access to high resolution aerial imagery will be invaluable to all businesses involved at every stage of the building development lifecycle, from planning to construction and management.”
Nearmap CEO Rob Newman added, “Our technology truly transforms the way businesses work. If you’re a construction company that needs to assess a new build site, or a solar panel installer who wants to quote for a job, Nearmap lets you do all of that without having to leave your desk. This allows businesses to redirect time and money to the most important business priorities.”
We can’t wait to see how New Zealand businesses and government organisations will start putting Nearmap to work for them. Questions about our NZ imagery? Contact us at
