Thanks dugsab.  I've tried that and I think that has been swallowed up by their new "system" which is like a dog chasing its tail.

I've got this back and tried it with the same result.  "We have received the following response to your reply, from the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy:Unless you are the lodger of the application or Authorised Holder Representative for ML100030 you will not be able to view the progress of the application on the MyMinesOnline system.You can request a public report, this will advise the current status of the application.  Please see below link:https://www.business.qld.gov.au/industries/mining-energy-water/resources/minerals-coal/online-services/searches."  I'll keep trying.
