I know you weren't the first one to reference small caps, It's most definitely not a small cap, it fits the definition of a microcap. On the nasdaq this would be considered a nano cap.
I've never heard of any prominent investor look at the microcap space and use that as a point of reference for a single holding. But yea, with the highly volatile market of the past year, everyone knows that the nanocaps and microcaps are the toughest markets to play in, I do agree wth chippydude that this space has a pattern of low volume for some similar stocks. It's understandable, It's often the hardest space to see real value until they skyrocket or fail, and sentiment in Australian equities has been very low for the past year. It certainly also doesn't help that up until recently myq didn't have too much going for it besides potential, and investors got in abit too early at too much of a premium as it went well past 1 dollar. in these markets people aren't as willing to gamble with high risk high return opportunities as much (if anyone tells you investing is anything else but calculated gambling, they are uneducated fools).
To discount the state of the economy, it's direct correlation to the lack of easy money on highly speculative stocks, and the fact that more investors would naturally look for safe havens to rest their money in a potential recession, coupled with speculation from nearly every single economist in Australia on the potential looming crash that will start on the property front, is hilarious hahahahaha. But maybe that claim hasn't been made, I'm just simply stating that the correlation is real for anyone who thinks otherwise.
just my 2c again, thanks
