Yes good point Mega, the time of vanadium redox has perhaps arrived. What better way to obtain a grant than with a newer product.
I’d certainly like to be seperate from Lithium and it’s life expectancy limitations & more notably the Tesla factor.
But for the current time being lithium is here for a while due to the cost reductions that have come about.
I wonder what the cost of a comparible size Vanadium Redox Battery would be?
Surely Sumitomo wanting a foothold in the Australian mining market and a grant to introduce a new “innovative product Malcolm” would warrant serious consideration and would:
1. Get much more attention
2. Possibly warrant more R&D tax breaks
3. Have a longer lifespan
4. Bode well for future projects
If the cost of the Vanadium Redox Battery is 30% or 40% more that Lithium perhaps that’s the difference we could argue for a grant?
