No guarantees for sure, but why in an area with lots of nickel sulphide in drill core right around the target - and no pyrite other than this tiny bit in a shear 400m above the target - would you expect it to be massive pyrite?
And considering Dean stopped the hole 35m above the conductor he wouldn't have known anything to laugh his a-- off about. He'd be scratching it trying to figure out what the hell to do next instead. Either that or plucking another exploration strategy out of it. One or the other.
No guarantees for sure, but on the list of possible explanations for this one massive pyrite is falling off the bottom.
