Intereresting there was 2.1M gross short sales on Wednesday, out of the 9M volume traded on the day. I estimate there was a volume of 1.4M prior to the underwriters ann at 2.45pm so I guess most of those shorts were opened before that time. Volume of 7.5M after ann, so it will be interesting to see what the short level is for yesterday which will be reported on Monday. Logic would say that a fair bit of that later volume was short covering.
