My 2 bobs worth, not that it's worth anything. Just merely my interpretation of the current situation that is not based on any facts.
Firstly it is a real pity to have to raise when the share price is at 12 month lows. I think its possible recent stock market volatility has spooked management and that is fair enough as global stock market indices are in bubble territory. Im not saying they are about to pop as timing the market seems almost impossible to me. I suspect recent drilling has not turned up anything too exciting otherwise it would have been released and the capital raise would have been done at a higher price.
So management have erred on the side of caution to raise money early. So rather than wait for further exploration success which may not be forthcoming as we all know exploration even with the most promising ground often proves fruitless. With the possibility of a stock market crash and drilling not proving fruitful over the next few months, management have taken the prudent measure of raising funds earlier than needed.
To those saying you cant make money on a stock that has a large number of shares on issue, i say that is nonsense. If you invested just prior to the discovery at t3 at 0.004 cents and sold at the share price peak last year at 0.09 cents you would have walked away with over a 22 bagger.
One thing that pisses me off is management issuing themselves massive numbers of performance rights with quite easy targets. When it comes to diluting shareholders the effects of capital raises are largely null and void on management as there performance rights and options more than make up for the dilution, it pisses me off. Further more the performance rights should be linked to the share price not the market cap. With that said nearly all companies listed on stock markets are guilty of diluting shareholders wealth through massively generous option and share plan give aways to top brass.
Now ive had my rant, i hold and hope on the gamble Mod will find further economic deposits of copper.
One last thing to answer anothers question yes i do think this management team is more than capable of taking this company all the way to production. Julian Hanna and Terry Grammer of mtr have done it before very successfully with a company called Western Areas. Our management are first rate and i hope they can deliver shareholders with substantial capital gains in the form of a higher share price, as a higher market capitalisation is of no significance at all to shareholders unless the share price goes up with it.
One more thing lol, if management are serious about raising further funds through an etitlement offer they will have to put out atleast one or two announcements before the end of the month to force the share price higher. Otherwise people will not bother taking it up. Personally i hope the entitlement offer is a flop as it will save further dilution at such a low share price.
Goodluck peeps and please take all my musings with a large grain of salt as they come from a mere stock market speculator who has lost more than he has one lol.
